Why do you require Service Hours?

White House Academy is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that relies on volunteers to help provide essential manpower to carry out programs and initiatives. By participating in service activities, we belief our families and students develop a stronger connection to our school and community.

Each family is expected to contribute at least 10 hours or service each school year. To help fulfill that obligation, upon enrollment, families are assigned the following service opportunities:

  • 2 days per year to help clean the school (2 hours)

  • Family Day of service (2 hours)

Families do have the option to buy out of these service hours at the price of $50 per hour. The money exchanged for service is used to hire someone to do that work instead.

​​Here are some examples of how you can serve at White House Academy:

  • Listen to young students read

  • Drive students for field trips

  • Volunteer with the PVO

  • Grade papers for a teacher

  • Check students safely out after school

  • Participate in a fundraising event

  • Coordinate class history celebrations
