Your Questions Answered
Will my child be ahead of the curve academically?
The Short Answer: Yes. Our approach focuses on "The Classical Core."
The Full Story: In grades Pre-k - 4th, we solidify essential skills through a rigorous focus on phonics-based reading, clear writing, history, and arithmetic. We don't believe in "teaching to the test." In grades 5th - 8th, students focus on mastery. If a student hasn't grasped a concept, we "review and re-do" until they have. We set high expectations because we know your child is capable of reaching them.
How is the Restored Gospel integrated into the classroom?
The Short Answer: God is our foundation, not an after-thought.
The Full Story: We believe every student is a child of God. Our mission is built on three pillars: Faith, Family, and Freedom. We incorporate the scriptures and the teachings of modern-day prophets into our daily learning. From morning prayer to discussing the hand of God in American history, we help students develop their own "Foundational Truths."
What are the "7 Rules of Conduct" I keep hearing about?
The Short Answer: They are the blueprint for leadership.
The Full Story: We uphold high standards of character because "self-government" is the greatest skill a child can learn. Our students strive to:
-
Arrive on time and prepared.
-
Obey exactly.
-
Treat others the way they want to be treated.
-
Work during all work times.
-
Be honest.
-
Strive for excellence.
-
Look for the good.
This environment ensures every child feels safe, respected, and ready to learn.
Why does the Academy require uniforms?
Uniforms help create an environment of equality, focus, and professionalism. By removing the distractions of fashion trends and social status, students can focus on their character and academic growth. It also serves as a daily reminder that they are part of a community dedicated to excellence.

Daily Life And Schedule
What does a typical school day look like?
Our day begins at 8:30 am with a school-wide Devotional to center our minds on our core pillars. Core subjects like Math and Language Arts are typically held in the mornings when students are most fresh. Afternoons include History, P.E., and rotating "Specials" such as Science, Leadership & Government, Art, Drama, and Music. The school day concludes at 3:00 pm with a "Knowledge Review" and classroom clean-up to teach stewardship.
The Short Answer: Yes, we understand that parents know what is best for their children.
The Full Story: White House Academy serves as a resource for homeschooling families by offering full-time enrollment, part-time options, or access to individual classes to provide peer interaction and specialized instruction.

How does the Academy help students "meet expectations"?
We maintain high academic standards while recognizing that every student learns differently. Students are encouraged to "review and re-do" assignments until they meet the required standard. This mastery-based approach helps students realize their full potential and build confidence in their abilities.
We believe in mastery over mere completion. If a student's work does not meet our high academic standards, they are encouraged to "review and re-do" the assignment. This process removes the fear of failure and ensures that every student truly understands the material before moving forward, helping them realize their full potential.
What is the "Review and Re-do" policy?
At White House Academy, we prioritize face-to-face instruction and physical books to foster deep thinking and focus. While we recognize technology as a tool for the modern world, its use in our classrooms is purposeful and limited, ensuring it complements rather than replaces the mentor-student relationship and the development of core skills.
How is technology used in the classroom?

Enrollment, Registration
And Tuition
How do I enroll a new student?
Enrollment follows a three-step process:
-
Initial Registration: Complete the New Student Registration Form online.
-
Family Interview: Meet with administration to review school policies and ensure the Academy is the right fit for your family.
-
Final Paperwork: Upon acceptance, you will receive an enrollment package to finalize fees and tuition payment plans.
Can we actually afford a private school?
The Short Answer: Absolutely. Between state funds and our local support, we make it happen.
The Full Story: The Utah Fits All Scholarship: Every K-12 student in Utah is eligible for up to $8,000 in state funding. This changes everything for family education choice.

The White House In-House Scholarship: If you don't receive the state scholarship, don't worry. We offer internal scholarships specifically designed to bridge the gap. Our goal is that no child is ever turned away due to financial barriers.

What are the key enrollment dates?
Returning students: priority enrollment begins February 1st (with a $25 fee).
New students: general enrollment for March 1st (with a $50 fee).
What are the different tuition options?
We believe every child deserves a classical, faith-based education, regardless of their financial status. To support our families, we offer several flexible options including scholarship opportunities, manageable payment plans, and a Tuition Assistance Fund for those facing substantial difficulty. For homeschooling families, we also provide individual class tuition to supplement your home curriculum. Extracurriculars And
Special Events
Are there opportunities for community service?
Service is a vital part of our mission to build leaders. Students participate in various service projects throughout the year, such as singing for local care centers (like Beehive Homes) or organizing community drives. These experiences help students apply the principle that "when you are in the service of your fellow beings, you are only in the service of your God."
What is the PVO?
The PVO stands for the Parent Volunteer Organization. It is the primary way for parents to engage with the school community. Participation in PVO activities—such as classroom help, chaperoning field trips, or providing food for celebrations—counts toward your required family service hours.
Do you hold special events for families?
Yes! We value the family unit and host several events to bring our community together, including Grandparents' Lunch, the President's Day Assembly, and various holiday celebrations organized by the PVO. Check our school calendar for specific dates and RSVP details.
